Roy Adaptation Model and Its Application to Clinical Practice

Abstract

|
|
To stand nursing as a profession, its area of practice, its body of knowledge, and its scientific base must be developed through a theoretical framework. The Roy adaptation model offers nursing a unique theoretical framework through which the profession can define oneself. Roy´s model has been adopted enthusiastically by many nurses. For the development and refinement of the model, its critical application is essential in all situations. Therefore analysis of the model with its application to a clinical situation is presented.
